Hawkeye Fire & Safety has served the Cedar Rapids and Iowa City areas for more than 30 years and, now, the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance has recognized that success by honoring Hawkeye Fire & Safety with a BRAVO Award at Good Morning, Cedar Rapids! on Nov. 2, 2017.
Hawkeye Fire & Safety was recognized for being a unique, home-grown business in Cedar Rapids. William L. Chadima founded Hawkeye Fire & Safety, which is located at 716 Oakland Rd. NE, in 1979 and the business has been a fixture in the Cedar Rapids community ever since. Today, Hawkeye Fire & Safety is a full-service fire and safety supply distributor and sales warehouse with first aid and medical supplies, personal protective equipment and fire extinguisher products.
Good Morning, Cedar Rapids! started in 1992 to celebrate local businesses and community leaders for their successes. This year’s event was held at the U.S. Cellular Center and hundreds of Cedar Rapidians were in attendance to see the family-business owners of Hawkeye Fire & Safety accept their BRAVO Award.
Hawkeye Fire & Safety is a multigenerational local business, which is one of the reasons why Cedar Rapids is more than a city to the family members and employees who have kept Hawkeye Fire & Safety thriving for decades.
“We have seen tremendous growth in our 38 years in Cedar Rapids. The people are loyal to their city and the businesses in it. Bill and I were both born and raised in Cedar Rapids and we are proud to call it home,” said Sue Chadima, one of the owners of Hawkeye Fire & Safety.
That commitment to the community is an integral part of Hawkeye Fire & Safety’s success, and that sense of responsibility and compassion is evident throughout the entire business.
“You’re always lucky to remain in business, but it is due to our friendly customer service, trained technicians and the close relationships we have developed with our customers. We have developed new business product lines throughout the years because our industry has evolved as well,” said Chadima.
